The Madisonville City Council met in a Special called meeting on September 6, 2019 at 5:30 P.M. at 210 W. Cottonwood, Madisonville, Texas

Meeting called to order at 5:30 p.m.

Meeting called to order with the following members present:

William (Bill) Parten-Mayor

Russell Bailey-Mayor Pro tem

Chris McGilbra-Council Member-absent

Brady Taylor-Council Member-absent

Lois Brown-Council Member

Jessie Jaenicke-Council Member

Camilla Viator- City Manager

Rosa Barrera- City Secretary

I.       Mayor William (Bill) Parten called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

II.        Invocation was given by Mayor Pro Tem Russell Bailey

III.       Chief Herbert Gilbert led the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Texas Flag with City Council and staff members.

IV.          Visitors Forum-none

 V.          CONSENT AGENDA

(a.)  Public Hearing, Consider the proposed budget for 2019-2020

         Mayor Parten opens the public hearing. No one present to speak. Mayor closed the public hearing.

 (b.) Discuss and approve on Ordinance 822 adopting the budget for FY 2019- 2020.

        Mayor Pro tem Russell Bailey moved to approve Ordinance 822 adopting the budget for FY 2019-2020. Seconded Council member Lois Brown with each Council member voting AYE motion carried

(c.) Review and approve an Ordinance 823 setting the tax rate of FY 2019-2020.

       Mayor Pro Tem Russell Bailey move that the Property tax rate be increased by the adoption of a tax rate of 0.6589 which is effectively a 6.46 percent increase in the tax rate. Seconded by Council member Jessie Jaenicke with each Council member voting AYE motion carried.

VI. ADJOURNMENT  

       Mayor Pro Tem Russell Bailey adjourn the meeting at 5:34 p.m. Seconded by Council member Lois Brown with each Council member voting AYE motion carried
