MINUTES
The Madisonville City Council met in a Special called meeting Workshop on July 26, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. at 210 W. Cottonwood, Madisonville, Texas.
Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m.
Meeting called to order with the following members present:
William (Bill) Parten-Mayor
Chris McGilbra-Mayor Pro tem
Jessie Jaenicke-Council Member
Brady Taylor-Council Member
Melissa Hinojosa-Council Member
Terri Davis-Council Member
Art Rodriguez-City Attorney
Camilla Viator- City Manager
Lacy Schilling-Assistant to the City Manager
Krystal Carroll-Finance Director
Rosa Barrera-City Secretary
I. Mayor William (Bill) Parten called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
II. Invocation was given by Councilmember Jessie Jaenicke
III. Chief Gilbert led the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag and
the Texas Flag with City Council and staff members
IV. Visitors Forum-no one
V. CONSENT AGENDA
- Art Rodriguez, City Attorney will conduct training to the City Council
Art Rodriguez, City Attorney briefly conducted a training to the City Council about the duties of the elected officials.
- Discuss and possible approval to appoint Mayor Pro Tem Chris
McGilbra to the selection committee for the administration services
for the ARP project.
City Manager explains to the Council what ARP stands for (American
Rescue Plan). Councilmember Brady Taylor moved to appoint Mayor
Pro Tem Chris McGilbra to the selection committee for the administration services
for the ARP project.Seconded by Councilmember Melissa Hinojosa with each
Councilmember voting AYE motion carried.
- Discuss and possible action granting the Right-of-Way to Entergy Texas, Inc. at Lake Madison Park beign 246.80 Acres.
Councilmember Brady Taylor moved to grant the Right-of Way to Entergy Texas, Inc. at Lake Madison Park beign 246.80 Acres. Seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Chris McGilbra with each Councilmember voting AYE motion carried.
- Discuss and possible action hiring a search firm for the new City Manager.
City Manager and City Attorney explains to the Council the difference between hiring a firm and them doing it themselves to hire a new City Manager. After a long discussion, Councilmember Brady Taylor moved to hire a firm for the new City Manager. Seconded by Councilmember Jessie Jaenicke. Four (4) voted for Brady Taylor,Jessie Jaenicke,Chris McGilbra and Melissa Hinojosa. One (1) Terri Davis opposed. Motion carried

General Fund
City Council went into detail over the General Fund.

The meeting was adjourned by Councilmember Jessie Jaenicke at 9:10 p.m.
Seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Chris McGilbra all voted AYE.
