The Madisonville City Council met in a Special called meeting on September 20, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. at 210 W. Cottonwood, Madisonville, Texas

Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m.

Meeting called to order with the following members present:

William (Bill) Parten-Mayor

Chris McGilbra-Mayor Pro tem

Jessie Jaenicke-Council Member

Brady Taylor-Council Member

Melissa Hinojosa-Council Member

Terri Davis-Council Member

Camilla Viator- City Manager

Lacy Schilling-Assistant to the City Manager

Krystal Carroll-Finance Director

Rosa Barrera-City Secretary

Art Rodriguez-City Attorney

I.  Mayor William (Bill) Parten called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

II. Invocation was given by Councilmember Terri Davis

III. Councilmember Jessie Jaenicke led the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag and

       the Texas Flag with City Council and staff members

IV. Visitors Forum-no one

V. CONSENT AGENDA

•  Review and approve on Ordinance 847 setting the tax rate of Fy 2021-

 2022.

 Mayor Pro Tem Chris McGilbra moved that the property tax rate be increased by the

 adoption of a tax rate of 0.6939 which is effectively 3.68 percent increase in the tax

 rate. Seconded by Councilmember Jessie Jaenicke with each Councilmember voting

 AYE motion carried.

• Discuss and possible appointment by Mayor Parten for a Member of the City Council to sit on the selection committee for the ARP project.

Mayor Parten appointed Councilmember Terri Davis to sit on the selection committee for the ARP project.

City Council went into Closed Executive Session at 6:04 p.m.

CLOSED EXECUTIVE SESSION;

IN ACCORDANCE WITH TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE

CHAPTER 551.074 (a)(1)-Deliberate Personnel Matter: To discuss and possibly appoint an Interim City Manager.

RECONVENE TO OPEN SESSION:

City Council went back into Open Session at 6:24 p.m.

CLOSED EXECUTIVE SESSION;

IN ACCORDANCE WITH TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE

CHAPTER 551.074 (a)(1)-Deliberate Personnel Matter: To discuss City Manager position.

RECOVENE TO OPEN SESSION:

• Discuss City Manager position.

Councilmember Jessie Jaenicke moved to direct staff to make the changes and send it to the firm. Seconded by Councilmember Brady Taylor with each Councilmember voting AYE motion carried

VI. Adjournment

       The meeting adjourn by Mayor Pro Tem Chris McGilbra at 6:25p.m.

       Seconded by Councilmember Melissa Hinojosa with each Councilmember voting AYE

       motion carried.
