Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m.
Meeting called to order with the following members present:

I. Mayor William (Bill) Parten called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
II. Invocation was given by Councilmember Lois Brown
III. Mayor Pro Tem Russell Bailey led the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Texas Flag with City Council and staff members.

V. CONSENT AGENDA
Mayor Pro Tem Russell Bailey moved to go into closed executive session at 6:01 p.m..
Seconded by Councilmember Lois Brown all voting AYE motion carried.
CLOSED EXECUTIVE SESSION: for possible action resulting from items discussed in executive session. The City Council for the City of Madisonville reserves the right to adjourn into executive session at any time during the course of this meeting to discuss any of the matters listed above, as authorized by Texas Government Code Sections 551.071 (Consultation with Attorney) 551.072 (Deliberations about Real Property), 551.073 (Deliberations about Gifts and Donations), 551.074 (Personnel Matters), 551.076 (Deliberations about Security Devices) and 551.086 (Economic Development.)
A. Consider Resignation letter for Legal Services with John Bankhead, City Attorney (Sec. 551.71Closed Meeting).
B. Discuss and possible hire an Interim City Attorney/City prosecutor (Sec. 551.71) Mayor Pro Tem Russell Bailey moved to go back into open session at 6:38 p.m. Seconded by Councilmember Lois Brown with each Councilmember voting AYE motion carried.
OPEN SESSION:
The City Council will convene in Open Session to take necessary action, if any, in accordance with Chapter 551, Open meetings, Subchapter E, Procedures Relating to Closed Meeting, §551.102, Requirement to Vote or Take Final Action in Open Meeting.
Mayor Pro Tem Russell Bailey moved to accept the resignation letter for legal services with John Bankhead, City Attorney. Seconded by Councilmember Jessie Jaenicke with each Councilmember voting AYE motion carried.
Mayor Pro Tem Russell Bailey moved to hire Arturo D. Rodriguez, Jr. from Russell Rodriguez Hyde Bullock Law Firm as an Interim City Attorney/City prosecutor. Seconded by Councilmember Jessie Jaenicke with each Councilmember voting AYE motion carried.
