Trash Pickup Services
Trash Services
The City of Madisonville is partnered with Waste Connections, Inc. to provide weekly pick up for trash and monthly pick up for bulk (household items) waste on the first Monday of each month.
Residents may only use a polycart issued by Waste Connections. Personal polycarts or trash cans will not be serviced.
Up to four (4) additional bags may be placed beside your polycart for pickup. Boxes must be broken down and placed inside the polycart.
Polycarts must be placed out no later than 7:00 a.m. on pickup day for service.
Handicapped Residents:
Handicapped residents who reside in a Residential Unit shall have the option of placing their Polycart(s) near their home, visible from the curb, and the Contractor will collect their Polycart(s) at this location and return the Polycart(s) to the same location. To be eligible for this collection option, residents must present proof of their physical incapacity from their relevant medical provider to the City.
Quarterly Trash-Off events:
The City of Madisonville is committed to maintaining a clean, healthy, and safe environment for its citizens. We invite residents to participate in the Quarterly Trash Off Events at 1001 Mickey Leland Blvd from 8 a.m. to noon. This event provides a great opportunity for Madisonville residents to dispose of bulk trash, scrap metal, brush, and electronic waste (e.g., computers, kitchen appliances, televisions) at no additional cost. Please note that hazardous waste (oil, paint, and batteries) and tires are not accepted. The event is restricted to residents with proof of residency, such as a driver's license or recent utility bill—no businesses allowed. Please check the website calendar for specific event dates.
Franchise:
Waste Connections, Inc. holds an exclusive franchise license granted by the City of Madisonville. Under this license, Waste Connections retains the first right of refusal for the collection of refuse, deceased animals and hazardous waste from residential areas, Commercial Hand Collect services, as well as Commercial Bin and Industrial Units. If you wish to order a roll-off container, please contact City Hall.
